Calgary, Canada  - Timing is everything and its working for The
Heartwicks. These indie pop rockers blew past other bands on the IndieCharts just as their “Black EP” album release party is announced for April 12 at Broken City.

If  the White Stripes joined The Clash and David Bowie dove into the
mix, you'd have The Heartwicks. ”Jason Hofer is the dynamic front-manwith a original voice that lingers in your mind. His roaring riffs pull you out of your chair,” said Stephanie DeGraw, The Music Scene TVdirector. The tight keyboards and spot-on drummer amplify the retro cool vibe.

The Heartwicks were invited to make an appearance on The Music Scenewhich  is carried on Comcast Cable in America. This summer they willbe on tour promoting their new album. The band was discovered when the producers of the show noticed they had jumped to the top of the Calgary Indie Chart on Reverbnation.com

The band was featured on the Center Of Gravity music festival
alongside Dragonette, The Latency, Faber Drive, and Naughty By Nature when touring in Alberta and British Columbia in 2010.

Another fan of the band is Robert Sounders, a London music executivewho said,  “I believe their material is of a high standard ... inparticular, I enjoyed listening to their single
“The Merchant”.

Some of the music influences on the band include; The Black Keys, TheDoors, Pink Floyd and Kings of Leon.  The band consists of  Jason Hofer who mans vocals  and guitars. Tenessa Hofer plays  synth, piano, bass organ and David Espinel handles the drums.

Important Announcement

David Espinel will perform with alternative band The A.D.'S from Calgary, Canada at select shows in Calgary before his departure to the US and to South America.

Espinel is a guest drummer on the demo version of the song 'Meant To Be'. The song was uploaded on the band's Reverbnation site at (http://www.reverbnation.com/theads).
Espinel said, "The band and I met and agreed on recording the song and maybe perform as a band at select shows in the city before I leave Canada at the end of November."

Two shows have been confirmed on The A.D.'S Reverbnation site and on Espinel's official Myspace: (http://www.myspace.com/davidespinel) at The Shamrock Hotel on November 2, 2011 and The Distillery night club on November 18, 2011.

September 2011 Update

Hi Friends,

So I am not sure about the video blogs, my last one was not as good as I wanted it to be. I will stick to writing short blogs for now.

It's been so much fun in the last month and this month. Last month August I played a whole buch of shows in Southern Alberta with the punk band Puttin On The Foil. Unfortunately due to my busy schedule I had to leave the band, I do want to thank Kevin Rowland for the opportunity to play for his band.

August 28, I played a cool show with recording artist Jenavive who is a great singer/songwriter from Calgary, Alberta. Her album called "Under The Sheets" is fantastic, make sure to check it out on her web site and as well on itunes. She played at The Backstage Lounge in Vancouver, and we rocked the joint!

September 1, I was invited by the Canadian pop-rock band The AD'S to record their single 'Meant To Be'. The recording process was a lot of fun and the staff at The Beach recording studios in Calgary, were really professional and friendly. I can't wait till the song is mixed, mastered and released.

September 3, My friend's Dwane and Franz from Invermere, BC invited me to play a show at the Invermere curling arena. The show was so much fun. Can't go wrong playing in front of 600+ people. The music was so tight and intense, that some girls from the crowd climb up on the bass speakers and danced all night. I want to thank Dwane, Franz, The L8 band, Charlene and Eddie for this great opportunity and good time with friends.

Recently, I heard from Jason Hofer, from the Canadian blues-rock-gospel band The Heartwicks. He mentioned that the three songs we recorded back in the summer are in the mastering process and the music will be released on the band's website and on itunes. July 2011 Update

Hello friends. Here is what I have been up to this month. First of all I recorded some drum tracks for the band The Heartwicks in the studio. I took lots of pictures and some videos and will upload the pics and videos on all my sites and YouTube...make sure to check those out when they are up.

This month has been busy with live shows!!!. I have been asked to perform live by a bunch of bands and I had a blast doing so!

What is ahead?, I am currently preparing to play a bunch of shows for two bands, I am really excited since I really enjoy to perform live. I will be performing with a super cool and crazy punk/rock band called Puttin On The Foil in various locations in the province of Alberta...you will see me at my best, trust me the guys I am playing with in the band are super talented. June 2011 Update

Hi friends,

Just posting a brief message to let you all know what I've been up to in the last few months!

I have been jamming a lot with all kinds of different musicians at local jams in Calgary, including a casino every Tuesday night. I was also hired to record drum tracks for a Calgary guitarist/singer by the name of Jason Hofer. We are still working on his songs.

I am currently not touring with anyone but always open to it. I love performing live and tours are fun!. If you are a professional band/artist looking for a live drummer to support your tour this summer/fall, then contact me at davidedrums@gmail.com

Toronto Trip 2011

Toronto was awesome I had a lot of fun and met some cool new people.
The Canadian Music Week event was held at the Fairmont Royal York, a high class hotel in the heart of Toronto. At the event I had a chance to meet Dereck Werner, who was a former Canadian Idol judge. I also met and networked with many music industry reps and bands from Canada and around the world.

I had the privilege to show-case my talent at two venues in Toronto; The Supermarket and The Relish. Both venues where packed and people enjoyed what they heard. I also had the opportunity to jam with local musicians.

I had a chance to see two friends perform; songwriter Deanna Prall and jazz drummer Morgan Childs. Deanna Prall, played a show-case at the Mod Club. Road Runner Records and Much Music hosted the show-case. Morgan Childs, who is an old high school friend performed at a jazz club called The Rex. Morgan was fantastic on the drums!!

I am looking forward to the next adventure. I want to thank my friend and mentor Eddie Black for making all this possible.
